Billionaire Kidnapper Evans reveals the identity of his gun supplier

Security agencies in Bayelsa State have started an investigation into the identity of a man named Suoyo whom Evans the Kidnapper mentioned as one of his gang members in the state.
In one of his numerous confessional statements, Evans the kidnapper said Suoyo is one of the most active members of his gang, who had the job of buying arms and ammunition, for their operations.
He said:
“When Suoyo, who lives in Bayelsa State, called me and expressed fears, I also assured him that nothing was going to happen. I told him I was making plans for another operation and needed him to go into the creeks and buy a new set of arms and ammunition”.
During the meeting in the Government House which had Governor Seriake Dickson in attendance, the security commanders were said to be certain that that the Suoyo mentioned by Evans was the same person who was recently arrested by the operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in the state.
According to NSCDC, Suoyo Dickson was arrested and paraded on Thursday by the state Commandant of NSCDC, Mr. Desmond Agu, in connection with the recent attack on a pipeline which belong to the Nigerian Agip Oil Company (NAOC).
Suoyo who is also knows as Hustler, reportedly led a gang of vandals that attacked the Agip pipeline at Lagosgbene, Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of the state on May 30, 2017.

Osinbajo blames Nigerian elites over Biafran agitation

Urges Military To Defend Nation’s Sovereignty
Acting President Yemi Osibanjo has blamed the nation’s elite of whipping up ethnic, religious and tribal sentiments to threaten the unity of Nigeria, saying that the Federal Government will use every resource available to defend the sovereignty of the country.
Osinbajo who was at the graduation ceremony of the Senior Course 39 of the Armed Forces and Command Staff College (AFCSC), said that the agitation for Biafra by Igbos and the counter quit notice by Northern youths were all rooted on the primordial ethnic and religious sentiment stirred up by the elites destabilizing the country. Besides, he urged the military to continue to live up to its responsibility by defending the sovereignty of the nation and democratic growth.
Frowning against the agitation for Biafra and the ultimatum against the Igbos in the north, he remarked,”The rumblings of secession, the dangerous quit ultimatums to ethnic groups, the radio stations and blogs that spew divisive speech and exploit our fault lines; all of these are now to be found online”.
“The last two decades in Nigeria have witnessed the quickened retreat of the Nigerian elite to their ethnic and religious camps. I would like to emphasize the fact that this was essentially an elite phenomenon, unity and disunity are promoted by the elite to which the vast majority of the Nigerian people were only later conscripted.
“A major drawback of ethnic chauvinism is the way that it is used to mask wrongdoing and promote impunity. Notice that when people are charged with looting public funds they quickly find a counter narrative. It is because I am Yoruba, Fulani or Igbo. Or the Muslims
are after me. Appointments in the public service are no longer even judged on merit. The question is how many are from my own ethnic group.
“In the past few weeks we have witnessed the escalation of agitations. Usually couched in deliberately intemperate, and provocative language, the reckless deployment of hate speech, and the loud expressions of prejudice and hate, name calling of those of other ethnicities and faiths is a new and destructive evil in our public discourse. But even more divisive words, expressions, and actions calculated to create fear and uncertainty have also been freely used.
“The problem with hate and divisive speech is that they tap into some of the basest human instincts, bringing up irrational suspicions, fear, anger, and hatred and ultimately mindless violence. People who have lived together as neighbours and friends suddenly begin to see each other as mortal enemies.”
He reminded Nigerians that, “while we must remain irrevocably committed to freedom of expression and the tenets of a free press, we must draw the line between freedom that conduces to healthy democracy and that which threatens and endangers the entire democratic enterprise.
“One of those lessons is that today’s wars never really end. This should be a sobering lesson to us all in Nigeria, as we contend with the forces that seek to stoke violence and bloodshed in our country. Somalia, Syria, Yemen, and closer home, the Central African Republic, Libya and the Democratic Republic of Congo; these wars have raged for years. Some of them have in fact gone on so long that they have been tagged as ‘forgotten wars’.”

Fashola: accuses NASS of inserting alien projects in his budget

Mr Babatunde Fashola, the Minister of Power, Works and Housing, has raised alarm over the insertion of projects outside the purview of his ministry in the 2017 Appropriation Act by the National Assembly.
Fashola, a senior advocate, said it was unfair to the Executive arm for the inclusion of such projects after public hearings on the budget and defence of the fiscal estimates by the ministries.
“What I have in my budget now is primary healthcare centres, boreholes,’’ he said at an interactive session with editors on Thursday.
“That was the meeting we had with the Acting President and that was the reason why the budget was not signed on time.
“We were ask to complete those abandoned projects; the budget of Lagos-Ibadan Expressway was reduced by the National Assembly from N31 billion to N10 billion.
“We are owing the contractors about N15 billion and they have written to us that they are going to shut down.
“Also, the budget of the 2nd Niger bridge was reduced from N15 billion to N10 billion and about N3 billion or so was removed from the Okene-Lokoja-Abuja road budget.’’
Fashola added: “Everybody is complaining about power supply but they also cut the budget for Manbila power project and the Bodo bridge that connects the Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas Station was also cut and all these were also discussed.
“If after we have defended the budget and we had gone and the legislature unilaterally changed the budget, what is the purpose of deliberation?’’
According to Fashola, it is unfair to Nigerians after public hearings were conducted with tax payers’ money and consultations with the lawmakers only for the budget to be altered, cut or padded.
The minister said that apart from the 200 uncompleted roads he inherited from the previous administration, the lawmakers added100 roads.
“These roads are not federal roads and some of them do not have designs, how do we award roads that were not designed irrespective of the power you have?
“It is unconstitutional for the National Assembly (NASS) to legislate on state roads.
“A budget is an estimation plan that set in motion what is to be spent, how much will be borrowed and how much will be collected.
“The executive controls all the machinery for collecting taxes and other revenue with relevant data from the Ministries of Finance, Physical Planning and the Budget Office and others.
“I am not saying that the legislature cannot contribute to the budget, but I hold the view that it cannot increase the budget because they do not collect the revenue with which to run or implement the budget,’’ the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) quotes the minister as saying.
Fashola, who held sway as Lagos State Governor between 2007 and 2015, however, said the National Assembly “might mean well and not do the right.’’
He canvassed interdependence and collaboration among the three arms of government rather than independence to ensure a harmonious relationship.
The minister said that without it, the country would not make progress and would be bogged down by the politics of total separation of power and what he called “power of example rather than example of power.’’
“The society benefits more from the power of example and interdependence rather than the example (show) of power; it requires that we show good examples.’’
On the concept of interdependence, Fashola said the President and the Vice-President could not swear themselves into office but by the judicial arm, while the president also proclaims the National Assembly without which it could not start business.
In the same vein, he said the National Assembly confirms ministerial nominees and justices of the courts who are in turn sworn-in by the executive.
He urged the intervention of the judicial arm of government to set the necessary parameters and set things right.
Fashola, however, blamed the electorate for putting pressure on the lawmakers and expecting them to do what was outside their constitutional duties of law-making, representation and oversight.
“There is need for mass orientation and enlightenment for Nigerians not to expect their elected representatives to provide roads, water, light and execute capital projects which is the function of the executive arm.”

I Wanted To Kill Myself Before Police Arrested Me – Billionaire Kidnapper Evans

Billionaire kidnapper Chukwudubem Onwuamadike a.k.a. Evans said he ran inside his house to commit suicide when he saw policemen at the gate of his Magodo mansion but was pursued and arrested before he could kill himself.
“I want to die. I can’t stand this humiliation’’ he emotionally said in a chat with Saturday Vanguard a few days after his arrest.

Being overcome by emotion was the least thing anyone would expect from someone, who lived in his own world with a larger than life image CG. But for notorious kidnap kingpin, Chukwudubem Onwuamadike, aka, Evans, who was arrested last Saturday at his Magodo Estate mansion, Lagos, the end is not just near but had come.
The 36-year-old suspect, who is a native of Akamili in Umudim Quarters, Nnewi, Anambra State, disclosed at the Lagos State Police Command, amidst tears, that he was being humiliated beyond limits, noting that he preferred dying than to continue living in pains.
I knew Police’ll not be fair to me
Evans said he knew the Police would not treat him fairly when he was caught, given the kind of atrocities he committed over the years.
It was based on this assumption that he told Saturday Vanguard that he made up his mind to end his life the moment the Police gained access to his house.
He stated that the Police officer who pursued him as he ran into his house when he sighted them at his gate, prevented him from completing his mission.
Regretting that he was not able to end his life that moment, he looked at this reporter and asked: ”What am I living for? When I saw the policemen dash towards me I ran inside. I was not running to escape. I ran to see if I could end it before they could take me. But time was short. They followed me into the room.

”I want the government to train and educate my children.
Not done, he added thus: “I have seen it all, I want to die and have some rest. The only thing I want now is for the government to take care of my children, educate them and don’t allow them to become criminals. I have begged Abba Kyari, to do this for me and he assured me that the Lagos State government would take them to an orphanage home where they would grow to become better persons in the society. I have been diagnosed with Colon Cancer and I wish I could die now”.
Asked about the exact location of his wife and children, Evans said he sent them to Ghana four days before he was arrested, adding that they had planned to relocate to Canada, where he said he wanted his children to school.
He further disclosed that he gave his wife the sum of N20million for her upkeep, stating that he did not know their location at the moment since the day he was arrested.
Evans also revealed that his wife, who he has been married to for 11 years only knew he was a kidnapper a few days before his arrest.
How my wife knew I am a kidnapper
He said: “My wife didn’t know I am a kidnapper. I kept all my kidnapping activities away from her and she thought I made my billions from importation and illicit drug dealings. We didn’t allow visitors to visit our house for any reason. If she must receive any visitor, I usually ask her to take them to a hotel.
”But a few days before I was arrested she discovered I was worried and restless. My blood pressure went very high and she asked what was happening. I opened up to her and also told her that security agents were everywhere looking for me. Initially, I thought it was the Department of State Security, DSS, that was hunting for me.
”I also told her to be very careful with her phones and to be mindful of the people who call her. I also told her to always switch off her mobile phones. While I was still contemplating on what to do, I got information that one of my girlfriends known as Ijeoma had been arrested and taken to SARS, Ikeja. That was when I knew that the people hunting me were policemen.
”I called my second in command, Felix and warned him to be careful that the Police were closing in on us, but before I knew what was happening, I learnt that Felix had been arrested in Ojota.
I sold my cars, stopped my children from going to school
‘’I immediately moved my family out of my house and we relocated to a hotel in Agidingbi Ikeja. My children stopped going to school, then I started making preparation for them to travel to Ghana where I have three houses.
A few days later, I got news again that my younger sister, Nzube had also been arrested by the Police. I heard they were trying to use her to lure me. I then sent words to one of my friends in Nnewi to take my mother to Bayelsa State where I felt locating her will be difficult. Then I sold three of my cars, leaving just a Grand Cherokee SUV.
Four days before my arrest, I sent my wife and children to Ghana and I paid the sum of N20 million to the account of a bureau de change operator in Ghana. She collected the money in Cedi. I was planning to join them the day I was arrested.“

Stop Beating Drums of War – Lai Mohammed

Alhaji Lai Mohammed, Minister of Information and Culture
Minister of Information and Culture, has admonished those beating drums of war through hate speeches and divisive statements to desist in the interest of the nation’s unity and safety.
The minister gave the advise on Saturday at the “Lai Mohammed 10th Annual Ramadan Lecture” held in his country home, Oro, Kwara.
Lai Mohammed expressed concerns over the rate of inflammatory statements capable of causing division and war in the country in recent times.
He urged Nigerians to disregard those who were engaged in hate speeches as well as their purveyors.
“In the last couple of months, we have witnessed the increase inflammatory and hate speeches.
“Hate speeches have been responsible for wars. Rwandan genocide where more than 800,000 people were killed was started by hate speeches.
“Like people say, wars are not really started by bullets, they are started by words of mouth.
“Nigeria is too big and God has a purpose for making us one and we shall remain united.
“There will be differences, but like the Yoruba says, “Ori bibe ko ni ogun ori fifo” (beheading is not antidote to headache).
“We have been living together peacefully and we will continue to live together, because we have a lot to gain by being united.
“If there is war today, none of us will escape whether you are young or old whether you are Yoruba, Igbo of Hausa ,” he said.
The Minister recounted a story he said Acting President Yemi Osinbajo narrated on the dire consequences of the Rwanda war on two judges from that country.
“The Acting President told us a story that in 1982, he was a young lecturer in the University of Lagos and two Supreme Court Judges came visiting from Rwanda.
“He said ten years later, in 1992, he went to work in Rwanda and on the street with a bowl in hand looking for food were the Supreme Court Judges that he saw in Lagos.
“This shows that when there is war, the young, the old, the rich and the poor, we are all victims,” he said.
The Minister stressed that Nigerians must work together, understand their differences and must never pray for war.
Mohammed thanked those who attended the lecture noting that their presence was key to its success.
He said the Ramadan lecture, the tenth in the series, was unique because it’s attendance cuts across religions and denomination.
The Minister explained that the presence of Christian faithful at the event was an indication that Nigerians, irrespective of their religious leaning, could work and live together.
The Special Guest of Hhonour at the event, Gov. Rauf Aregbesola of Osun said he was impressed with the turn out of people in their diversity at the event.
The governor urged Muslim faithful to remain pious in the remaining days of Ramadan and pray for the unity of the country.
Gov. Abdulfatah Ahmed of Kwara commended the Minister for organising the annual lecture.
The governor, who was represented by the Commissioner for Information, Mahmud Ajeigbe said it was a great feat for the minister to have sustained the Ramadan lecture for 10 years.
Earlier, the Guest Speaker, Sheikh Ibrahim Gidado from Lagos preached on piety especially during the Ramadan period.
He charged the gathering on the need for people to have the fear of God in all their dealings and to be compassionate and show love to the less privileged.
He also called for the support of Nigerians for the Administration of President Muhammadu Buhari as well as their prayers for the President’s quick recovery.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Chief Imam of Oro, Mohammed Sanusi led other clerics at the event on prayers for the country, the President and his cabinet as well as the minister and his members of families.
The lecture was attended by traditional rulers from Kwara, including Oloro of Oro, Oba Abdulrauf Oyelaran, Clerics, Muslim and Christian faithfuls, politicians, students and people from other walks of life.

SHOCKING!!! APC Weeps As Acting President, Yemi Osinbajo, Finally Falls Into PDP’s Deadly Trap

The Cross River State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has asserted that the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the State, through the Governor, Ben Ayade, deceived the Acting President, Yemi Osinbajo, during his recent visit to the State.
Acting President YEMI OSINBAJO
Recall, that the Acting President who had visited the State recently, was full of encomium for the Ayade’s administration, while his visit lasted.
However, the Chairman of the APC in the State, John Ochala, in a statement, played down on the commendation, saying the “Acting President may have fallen victim into PDP’s mischievous trap.”
Ochala said: “The Acting President may have fallen victim, but it has not changed the reality on ground, because Cross Riverians know Ayade and therefore, would judge him based on his performance, not commendation by anybody.
“What people don’t understand, is that the Acting President was not in the State at the instance of the State Government.
“It was part of his routine meeting with elders and stakeholders from the South-South region. It is part of the APC-led administration’s programmes, to address the challenges in Niger Delta.
“Has the commendation changed the fact that Ayade didn’t commission any single government owned project in two years?
“Has it changed the fact that the much talked about garment factory, is a privately owned company, with Cross River having just 30% shares?
“Has it changed the fact that the Calabar Pharmaceutical Company is undergoing registration now, as a privately owned company?”
